i suspect my mum has some cleanliness OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), which i shall call the CNY syndrome. she loves to hover around my table, i know her hands are itching to stack my things up in her way of (perceived) neatness. and she tells me that i should get a bigger box to put my smaller boxes in. which makes no sense and serves no practical purpose cos ultimately the small boxes are still there. and she loves to nag and tell me that this is her hse, she can clean it her way. yah, go ahead, i dun care what she does to the rest of the hse just leave my table alone!

so, it was chris and my first ballrm dancing lesson on friday and i must say it was pretty fun. it was quite physically straining though, with lots of tiptoe-ing. it felt like aerobics lesson to me cos by the end we had sore calfs and sore arms haha, but i enjoyed it.
i finally got down to reading pride and prejudice. finally i could get past the first chapter. the prev times i tried to read it, i always get lost esp when they argue with each other. but after watching the movie, at least ive an idea of what's going on. i also had a sudden urge one day to read chinese classics like hong lou meng. oh my, my dad would be so proud of me. haha

i went to the mega ikea at tampines with my family today and i must say it is really successful. the food is nice and cheap, the furniture are pretty, simple and affordable, and ikea always makes me feel like buying cute little things (which may be qt useless) such as their very pretty boxes, nice drinking glasses, candles, beautiful black photo frames and pictures, on impulse. see, it really works. this mega store is really big and makes me all giddy looking at the piles of things. i'd really love to decorate my own hse someday. i can picture it with nice dark wood and dark-ish walls, lots of glass, pictures in black frames. i also have this thing for drinking glasses so i'd stock up on all sorts of wine, champagne, martini glasses. i can already hear my mum complaining how difficult it is to clean. haha

i REALLY cant believe that A's are over. i mean when u think about it, it wasnt too long ago at all when we were slogging our asses off. but (admit it) our brains have probably degenerated to mush already. actually i miss having my brain in tiptop, exam- ready form. its qt depressing to flip through the math and cant rmb how to do things when they used to be 2nd nature! and im sooo bored of slacking, mainly because i really end up doing nothing without a routine. and my original intention to do lots of reading failed terribly. except reading some old magazines and 2nd hand $1 nancy drew bks from thomson plaza (i solved the case before she did HAH!).

Sunday, January 07, 2007

went for the inter-jc prom pageant with chris and grace yest. it was pretty interesting and vivien told me that the winners were both ex-ph ppl! interesting. and colin is a giant. he's the tallest person i've seen thus far. maybe mr q. is that tall. saw qt a few old friends arnd, wasnt too bad! didnt stay for long though :(

my days are just endless youtube-ing and mooching around, which im starting to get sick of. so i better get my ass of my chair and do sth soon

Monday, January 01, 2007

so, its 2007. feels really weird cos it wasnt too long ago when we were slogging our asses off in the library. anyway, i was at the airport when 2006 was over. so disappointing! there weren't any special celebration for both xmas and new yr. i'm sort of having a post trips blue, cos one week is really short! i actually survived korea without being able to read a single signboard or read any menu (besides hotel restaurants). there were some really really cold days like when we were skiing and our fingers and toes froze but it was really fun. i'd rather have cold than hot actually..hahah. and we did some nice shopping there, though the accessories there are expensive! ( i wonder why! since some sg stuff are korean imports) we also made friends with this 2 kids super adorable!! they called our room to ask if they could come over and play. and they are planning to come to our hse this wkend. very cute! one thing abt korea is that they have very few international cuisines. only the occassional chinese or jap restaurants. so the koreans live on korea food everyday! which will get boring right? i mean, hotpot/bibimbak/bbq everyday gets a bit dull..spking of which, korean airlines serves bibimbak. quite special haha

so now its back to the boring life in sg :( hope to catch a takeshi movie soon and go msia for some shopping!! my table is in a mess once again and i dun feel like doing anything abt it.

Saturday, December 23, 2006

im leaving for the land of bae yong jun, da changjin and kwon sang woo in about 8 hours time. but im not in a holiday mood actually, im more keen in celebrating xmas. hopefully there's sth nice on the plane (some nice turkey would be great). it was gathering with pri sch frens yest and the turn out was not too bad actually, about 10 ppl. hopefully we can have another one nxt yr with more ppl! we watched night at the museum and it's qt funny! ahhaha, i love the sakagewea part (sooo hilarious). ah, i still wanna wtach the holiday though and curse of the golden flower!

Thursday, December 21, 2006

i was kindly reminded that it is the december solstice today, the shortest day of the year if you're living in the N. Hemisphere. man, i really really miss geog :(

it's pretty boring at home nowadays, waking up late, watching korean dramas over youtube, shuttling between bt batok and home for theory lessons, playing nintendo and watching tv. sigh. i need a life. i sometimes wished that my family celebrates xmas (but we're mostly overseas this time of the yr), there's just this really warm fuzzy feeling about it (chinese new yr or chinese festivals? cant beat this) and all the hype, celebrations etc. what was meant to be an xmas party of sorts ended up as just dinner cos there're just too little of us and we've no idea what to do. we had korean bbq (which i'd probably be eating everyday nxt wk) and went to check out the cannery. that is about the most interesting thing that happened in my life this wk. wow.

Friday, December 15, 2006

i was just reading some of my archives and it's funny how i used to write in a very different way ahha. and i read this post about how i felt during pre prelims period in 04 and how i'll miss the sch. this yr, i was really really numbed by the exams that it only dawned upon me during my last 3rd or 2nd papers that it's going to be the last __ time that i'll walk through those gates in my uniform, as a student of the school. it's really odd how time passes so quickly and things become a bit...surreal and intangible at times. when a classmate asked my what the rest of the class is up to, i really have no idea! except for the few of us who hang out, i don't like this feeling, that things don't last. and i've probably said before how i felt that some of my gd friends don't last. sad, really.

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

i watched girls out loud yest and i must say it's so funny!! the girls are very hilarious and the guests (hmm, just the 'street eyebrow stylist' actually) were soo....hmm...daring and lacking in self awareness. i mean, how can someone claim to be a model and the cutest person in us and singapore!
my days are now so similar that its hard to differentiate them. and i hate doing writeups to 'sell' myself saying how great i've been and im tired of reading the heaps of overdue friday wkly. well, one thing's for sure, im sorta hooked to sudoku (HAHA passe i know!). i must do the daily one in Today papers and more from this other paper called my paper, i guess it's keeping me from getting senile during this period before sch starts again.

Sunday, December 10, 2006

i desperately need some routine in my life. desperately. there's quite a lot at hand, i realised, and i just want to get them over and done with so i can enjoy my break and finish my driving and get a job. (but there's soooo much more i want to do!). i am a routine freak and if i don't plan my time i usually end up very VERY unproductive. sigh. and i feel like i havent had enough fun. have i? well, shopping wise, more or less (next target, malaysia YES! - yr end sale) and hope to have a xmas celebration of some sort before i fly off!

life can be THIS unfair! the current rg choir batch went for prague/vienna trip (IM SO JEALOUS!) . oh why oh why is life so unfair! i rmb when our comm was trying so hard to send a proposal to the school planning a trip to italy (and it was for choral competitions!) and it was turned down by the school. then there was the aust. trip that didnt materialise due to dull response. and so i've nv gone on a sch trip be :(

anyway, went 007-ing with chris yest and i LOVE THE BAHAMAS!! but i guess it's rich men's land. SO, one day i become rich i'm going there to get my seaside house, get a boat/ yatch, float arnd drinking bubbly and get myself a cute dude (HAHA KIDDING).

Thursday, December 07, 2006

so. prom is over. it's quite weird huh that its the last last last ever day as an rjc-ian (but once a rafflesian, always a rafflesian!)! i actually prefer the before and the after more than the during. the during, half the time i was trying to track down friends and i think i took very few pictures!! only 50 in all and rachel (shen), it wasnt very possible to take a phpps pic cos i cant even find them! ahha. but anyway, i think the programme was gd and mr vadi was qt entertaining lah ahha. and congrats to mandy on prom queen! the food was so-so, and the justin timberlake sexy back song just kept playing in the bkgrd and it got stuck in my head esp after rach kept singing it on the way back to our room haha. then we went to post prom party and i must say it was pretty entertaining to watch ppl (*cough* the podium dancers) but half the time i was watching ppl's belongings or squeezing through the ppl hahah. but i really like it when everyone just sings (or rather shouts) along with the songs, esp when the party's ending ahah. niwae it was qt fun and funny haha. we got back at 3+ and attempted to stay up playing games like truth or dare but we know one another and our lives are boring so it didnt last long haha.

our room was great! haha, nice view and really comfy to laze arnd in. and i, being the sleep-first-then-say kind of person, of cos, went to slp first while others waited for the shower hahha. it was so nice and comfy! and in the morn we lazed around in our rm watching tv and grace taking a pict frm the opp bldg of us waving our arms over the balcony till check out time. will post pictures later

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
