i was watching a documentary on discovery called "End Day". it depicted 4 different scenarios that scientists predict the world will end in 1) a mega tsunami 2) a meteor hits earth 3) a flu pandemic 4) a particulate accelerator experiment that might create a black hole effect.
well, the first 3 are supposed to be "the qn is not whether it will happen, but simply when" while the last is just imagination and sci-fi stuff. i didnt like how the tsunami one only depicted the effects on US East Coast. too small a scale to be "doomsday". hahha, if sth is a doomsday, it should affect the whole world. like the earth exploding frm its core or sth. i thot 2 was what i would believe most in ( did u noe that tiny meteorites hit the earth all the time but they get burnt out while penetrating the atmosphere and thus becomes the dust that settles on your table?) and 3 is the most relevant to current situations. i dunno abt you, but if i know doomsday was coming and i prob wun be able to escape, i will just wait for my death, i wun attempt to run or hide or anth, because its not gonna be very nice being one of the survivors and seeing the bleak world arnd u huh? i guess u'd rather be dead then too.
i kinda like sci-fi hahah, and the simulations and CGI in the docu was good! haha, anyway, it just shows how unpredictable nature is huh? the tsunami one had this scientist saying that such an event had occurred throughout geological time (its supposed to happen because this volcanic island erupted and split into half, and the impact will cause giant waves), and is not gonna stop just because we exist on earth. so true. and makes us feel so very small huh. speaking of nature, i think she has been extremely unkind to Indonesia! Earthquake, tsunami, volcano, earthquake again. leave indon alone for now, there's too much tragedy there!

went for the True Hearts cip farewell. and one of the mentees gave me this balloon :) well, i spent a very short time there but it was a pretty nice feeling knowing how they appreciate my presence. it's tuition for normal tech students and to us it's a very different kind of scenario. they are sec 3 and still learning simult. eqns. to us its lik second instincts rite, but i gues i've come to apprec that my surroundings and my friends are only a very small part of the world we live in, and that there are lots of people out there with lifestyles/environments vastly different from ours and it would be extremely narrow minded to only concentrate and dwell on our own little bubble.finally the holidays are here. im happy because NO MORE 6AM MORNINGS!!!!!!!! (plus my mum is getting more lenient abt my wake up time ahha) that's the best of the hols. and to look on the bright side, i finally have time to sit down and study proper (provided if im well discplined and can sit still and wait for the info to enter my brain thru osmosis). but duh, who likes studying!

we watched a very depressing video during physical geog today. basically, it talked about this 2 climatic phenomena - global warming and global dimming (this caused the ethiopian famine), and how pollution is the main culprit behind them. despite the decrease in pollution in certain countries, the inability for us to remove CO2 in the air (which comes from burning coal etc for energy) will worsen global warming. and it's jus a vicious cycle- the world will become hotter and hotter, the ice caps melt, plants cant grow, ppl die of famine, etc etc. you must watch the video yourself (which is very nicely filled with horror movie- worthy music) and you will come out depressed. btw, the effects will hit in by 30-4o yrs, so don't think it doesnt affect you. recycle and save electricity!

what started out to be an attempt to do my lit PC essay has turned out to be a terrible failure cos i have NO REMOTE IDEA on how to start my essay, or what im supposed to write.
Had learning journey today to the Ford Factory (at hillview there). it was not too bad, pretty interesting exhibits, but the thing is, the only photo that i took throughout the whole thing was this display of banana notes

hahah, just wasnt in the "take picture take picture" mood i guess. and there was a pathetically small no. of ppl who turned up. oh, at the end of the gallery there was this comments board, and there was this note, prob left by a kid that said "i am so proud to see my ah gong's id here!" how interesting right! OH and there was this SUPER AMUSING part about how ACS' canteen used to face these "holiday houses" where the Europeans hung out prob as resorts or sth (cant rmb) AND the women would SUN BATHE (was it in the nude!!?!- i think so!) so the teachers and prefects had to hmm...keep the order. oh, and outside the gallery there was this pretty intersting tic tac toe machine thing that would ask u qns from the info u can get from the exhibits.
then we proceeded to Al Azhar for some prata and milo dinosaur. ah well, i guess some of the food there is a bit overrated? but milo dinosaur is so nice :)
oh and i am so in love with magnum ice cream! the chocolate coating is just OUT OF THIS WORLD! oh can someone who watched lost tell me about the thing between Shannon and Sayeed? i missed abt one or two episodes and am completely lost. haha, bad pun.

went for chorale concert today and PUNCH wa SOOOOOOOO hilarious. last year was the bobbing bombay and this year is some mushroom thing. man, how can they be so funny!! ok, so everytime i go for a choir concert, its largely nostalgia and not so much of aesthetic enjoyment for me. ahah but i must say, bonkie's solo rocks!! i was like "that's nice" and trying to trace whose lips that came from.
so, i've gone for 3 concerts in the span of about 3 wks, and thanks to Dad who picked me up all the time, so willingly :). was looking fwd to learning journey but since only 10 will be turning up..(that's like half of the class alrdy) i guess it wouldnt be so fun after all. am looking fwd to the prata. ahaha.

yest when we were walking to VCH, we saw this DAAAMMMNNN CUTE kitty!! i dun often say cats are cute cos i think they look slightly scary, unless they are the persian damn fat type with round round eyes. but NIWAE, this kitty is an exception. it was alone, at the roadside!! so poor thing!! i so wanted to carry it but scared it would scratch me or sth. sigh..mum...i want a pet!!!!!
supposed to do some econs presentation thing, but im super distracted now.
audrey hepburn is really not THAT pretty see this but it's her whole image that's oh-so classy. oh and i cant wait to watch da vinci code!! kinda feel like reading the bk again, to refresh my memory. but anyway, i think ian mckellen is acting as the sir teabing right? i think he suits the role a lot..i'd have imagined him to be that character niwae. he's so flexible right! he can be both evil and nice old men. haha

yay! i survived SATs!! have a pretty good feeling abt it. ALL THANKS TO THE COFFEE!!! i really cant think properly if i cant stay awake. then came home and did nothing andthen went out for dance nite. the whole city hall was flooded by rj lah. and i crown chris the queen of city hall. ahha, cos im very unfamiliar with that area so she's the one navigating arnd. thnks!
niwae, dance nite was good! there's a reason why it gets sold out every year. and the dancers are flexible like anything, they can kick their legs up so high like nobody's business. haha
i REALLY love the fashion of the 1930s and 40s. the women in wide-brimmed hats, gloves, pipe in hand, french chic; poofy gowns with cinched waist, fur, always pearls. i think its the era when femininity was celebrated, women take comfort in being women, the idea of luxury, extravagance for women seemed to have blossomed then
this is what i mean

What breed of dog are you?
http://web.tickle.com/dog/
Yorkshire Terrier
No bones about it, you're a social, bustling Yorkshire Terrier. Active and enthusiastic, Yorkies like you have a ton of energy — which means you're probably always running around like a mad dog. You're never without a project to work on, an errand to run, or a party to catch. (Where do you find the time?) You're a chatty little pup, too — talking is one of your favorite pastimes. That's why all your friends and acquaintances see you as their own personal Entertainment Tonight and rely on you for the latest gossip and social bulletins. You always liven up a dinner party or cocktail gathering, and people simply adore your affectionate nature and get-up-and-go eagerness. Woof!
Ooh, i turned out to be one of my fave dogs, though it's not very accurate! HAHHA. really wouldnt mind being one in my next life.
