i figured i need more discipline cos there's really a lot of work piled up by now. TONS OF READINGS. so, i started my week going for SV on tue. havent been there for really long cos i always cant catch the early bus or it'd be super crowded. so hopefully, i will wake up earlier and go every tue.

lots of work. actually readings!! human geog, phy geog, human geog s, phy geog s, econs (that income determination notes which are totally.. GROSS and the lectures are so DAMN USELESS), econs S. and nv ending maths tutorials!! but somehow i think maths hw are the most enjoyable to do. jus keep doing, apply formula can alrdy.more or less. and this yr's geog's so rushed!! there are so many things that we're expected to resrch ourselves, and i cant really grasp wat's the impt points. hope the tchers do a summary. really glad mr quek is our econs tutor or i think my macro wud DIE. this current lecturer is so...FRUSTRATING!! 1) i dunno wat's he talking abt what keynes wat milton friedman and wat they believe. 2) the basics are not even in! like AS AD etc etc 3) the notes are in such a freaking mess!!! me and eunice complaint so much to mr quek ahhaha.

so, after all that's said, a lot of time will need to be devoted to reading the notes myself AGAIN cos they dun make a single sense to me now. and making geog notes. UGGGHHHH. school is so sian!!! I HATE THURSDAYS!!! its my most most most most dreaded day. its bad enuf to have pe frm 3-4 and ON TOP OF THAT MISERY, econs s from 4-5!! :( the only thing that salvages the late late day is some jokes by the expat tchers. fri wud be perfect if not for the 4hr break. so rach and i bummed arnd and idled in j8 and the lib. and i had a nice nap in the sofa section. ahahha

went to chingay 06 with iris! it was pretty fun! except for the LONG LONG LONG wait. there was a rj /rj dance club troupe! with 3 floats! hahah, how cool is that. pictures! some random shots of the parade, and YES that's jy. ahahha. so iris was busy waving to all her frens! haha, and each troupe had their own coordinators, so the coordinators were rj ppl too. pretty interesting. ahhah.

ok. so after the parade ended at close to 10, iris had to eat cos shehadnt had her dinner, so we went centrepoint, which was behind where we were seating and it was freaking full! so we went over to taka, which is SUPER chingay unfriendly. not a single shop was open AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE FREAKING DOOR OPEN IN THE WHOLE BUILDING. and i meant ONE PANEL of a glass door. does it hurt them a wee bit to open jus the other panel!>?!?!? and the disco thing was jus outside taka, so it was pretty crowded. so we went over to paragon coffeebean.

i FINALLY got to swim today. but it still rained, so i swam for a short while. i enjoy swimming cos its so relaxing but u can be comforted that u're working off some of ur cny guilt. school was boring as usual haha, except when rachel stays in the disillusion that she is sayuri in memoirs. yes yes, u want a life of ur own. ahhaha. the movie is nice i must say! but i checked the book's ending - sooo ooo much longer- and ppl are saying that chairman's a paedo. watched memoirs yest. nice nice nice. so nice. i think ancient japanese culture is so intriguing. and i think its so sad that the geisha trade died off, i mean, its a really beautiful art and their every movement is an art. i especially love the ending, ahha, but i think the ending was much sadder in the book. and i think ken watanabe suits the role of Chairman.

ITS A SIGN MAN. hahaha, there's project runway, sharon, and now ashley isham's success story on the papers. its surely a sign. and when i pointed out ashley isham to my mum, she gave that "oh no" expression and she must be thinking, this kid is getting off track, lead her back to the path of light. ah well. seems like i have to do things in the dark then. apply for all necessary things and when its done i shall tell her. more impactful. i know my chances are slim but im taking the chance. and i would really love to convince my mum that fashion is indeed a viable career option (how do you say viable in chinese?), not in singapore obviously. but start somewhere else. fashion is viable because it can never go extinct. why do so many ppl yearn for their gucci chanel lv and raid zara mango and topshop? cos fashion lives. of cos, that would be my ultimate dream. but otherwise, if im to follow the path of light and study something...conventional, i would still hope to find a job related to the fashion industry. ah well, life.

i was watching this movie ' i love you to death', it was a silly plot but the actors were pretty interesting and funny. and i was qt curious cos i saw keanu reeves name, so i jus watched on. keanu was acting as this idiotic, dumb gangster. and it was jus so hilarious!!!!!! its so unlike the cool him in most of his movies. his parts were really really hilarious. so if u have hbo, go check it out.

NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM. so jaw-dropping...even the sch's lib is better. so instd of borrowing the bks i wanted to, i borrowed another bk i saw.

im SO proud of myself!! i finished like 40 pages of HOD in abt 45 min. AND FINALLY. im getting it, i finally noe what's happening. and im going to finish this bk, hopefully by tmr, and finish off the assignment, so i can read all the other bks i want.

and i must recommend a movie! "Legends of the Fall" a movie made in 94, and won and oscar i think. very very nice. it's got an interesting plot and a very nice backdrop. and i love the wilderness and the horses. oh, not forgetting, brad pitt's in it, with long hair, and of cos suave as ever.

yes, im still very bored. by late afternoon, i started staring into space, so i went for a swim. i'd still be very bored if not for the occasional gd movie on cable.

THIS is exactly why i wasnt looking fwd to the hols. and i cant care abt pw anymore, i noe its not gonna be very well done but i jus cant care. and i dun want to start on sth, like reading HOD yet cos i wanna devote all the time to it and finish it once and for all.

watched zorro! it was qt nice! the plot was the usual stuff lah, the hero nv dies and gets saved in time by his frens yada yada, but it was pretty funny! the horse tornado was damn funny! and zorro's son joaquin is damn cute!! bright future ahead lil boy!! ahahah, and the spanish accent was fun too.

ah, im reintroduced to the gdness of that opera from the fifth element. it's a song that leaves u with an indescribable feeling when it ends. more than awe. i didnt qt like the movie's ending tho...didnt even see the sparks between the 'supreme being' and the dallas guy. oh, and the costumes were JPG, hahahaha.

some stuff happened over this week, drastic stuff. and all i can say is, what a sad loss of affinity. but im ok, its doesnt really stick in my mind anymore. and i'm someone who holds on to the past, clinging on to those memories very tightly, and i guess its sometimes a bit hard to accept that ppl and things change and deviate frm the memories that i cling on so tightly to. but i guess, in life, different ppl deal with things differently and ppl have different outlooks. to u: i'll be perfectly fine with u in sch, so no need to avoid me or anth.

little things always birng abt surprises!! i took part in NOISE SINGAPORE some time back, and it was jus for fun. its this art/design competition thing, for many categories. and mine was one of...6 or 7 chosen for the fashion/accessories section!! heehee!! i submitted 2 entries, one for fashion one for accessories and the latter won. was invited to this opening ceremony at rouge club but it was the 2nd day of promos..:( but im jus glad that this small little participation actually brought many surprises for me! now, they want ppl to vote for their fave works. the top 20 artists will get to go for some designers' forum? sth like that. so please vote for me!! thnks!

i hate pw. and i think my grp shouldnt have chosen this topic..and i came up with this topic for PI. and i hate it now. it's abt recycling and its sth that's not NEW at all and every moment we come up with an idea, NEA comes up with or reinforces sth they alrdy have, which makes our project unoriginal. AND our presentation isnt even done, when the dry run is on tue, and THE WORST. is that, i jus found out that we had put a wrong diagram on the written report. and its qt a bad mistake cos it totally left out one of the items and the percentages dun even add up.

im damn stressed now and have a tendency to shout at ppl now.

went jogging jus now. my my...my stamina dropped like SO much and i could barely run 4 rounds. not even 400m each. that shows that fitness needs to be maintained man!

was jus packing some of my drawers. my drawers have the most interesting and randomest assortment of stuff in them. i have lots of notebks, random craft stuff, cross stitch cloth and thread, sewing kit, unused christmas cards, lots of henna (PLEASE GET FRM ME IF U NEED FOR RACIAL HARMONY OR DEEPAVALI). oh, and this notebk that i started which i will write in every 16 yrs of my life..haha, kinda like recording the events in my life and my thots at each phase. and i keep lots of letters that people write to me (angel/mortals, seniors, friends). all these will go to another big blue box in another rm at the end of every yr. that box has xmas cards and letters and every sort of memorabilia u can think of. and i kinda renew the stuff in that box every yr.
i also have this "pri sch box" which has some of the stuff frm pri sch - like that phony velcro prefect tie, a graduation class photo which i look hilarious in, my report bk and this pc of paper on which everyone signed.
oh, besides, i also have a habit of keeping plastic/paper bags that are nice or jus handy. i always believe that things will come to a gd use one day (and they do!) so my drawer has a collection of plastic/paper bags of all shapes and sizes. also have this stack of postcards which i dun use anymore.
and in another rm, i have this secret hide out for some stuff..*shhh* hahah, i have lots of fabric left frm choir last yr (being the costume i/c) really really lots of them. in all colours and materials. like a mini spotlight. so if u happen to need any fabric, i am the one u're looking for.
and i've still got much more things to go. but that shall be cleaned up another day!

well, i do have a lot of stuff, but they're all well hidden and stuffed away somewhere, so all in all, it still looks fairly tidy!

i think iw as conked out for most of today. whenever i got on a bus, i slept for the WHOLE journey, till i reach my destination. must be the pile up of the lack of slp frm past few days. met eve in the evening and talked abt sch life, sch things and ppl, and how things have changed frm the past, etc. always nice to catch up with old frens!

today's trip to sch was qt a waste of time. i wud rather they let us stay late yest then go to sch for some insignificant stuff. the econs s paper talk wasnt that helpful either.

am currently reading catcher in the rye. accg to r, sich angsty writing was a brkthru at that time (40s/50s) it's qt pleasant to read. simple words and sentences, not mind boggling ones like heart of darkness (which after reading u still dun get the meaning). i dun have too gd a feeling abt HOD for nxt yr, cos i really dun understd it!!

am also currently practising to reduce my reliance twds the net cos i have qt plenty of other stuff to do, besides whiling time away on the net doin useless stuff. mtg eve later and hope to catch up with her. miss her chatter and cheerfulness :)

today was qt a pleasant day! and im rather pleased with my results :)

went out to town with p and y and we spent helluva long time at gramophone (scotts picnic food centre, right at the back) it has a wide wide range of music and movies and i got this 2nd hand jazz lounge cd for 6. pretty nice, very relaxing. i like the song 'the girl frm Ipanem' (p's recommendation!)

sch is soooo dreadful now. why cant they have "play sessions" as post promo activities!!

well, i guess jc life has put me into a thinking-intensive position. im always made to reflect on certain things etc. and i've been put thru several tests which have made me realise who/ what are the most impt in my life.

my picture's screwed! argh...arab st is qt a nice place! but mostly just fabric shops (good if u want to tailor make sth) and a no. of bead shops. THEY ARE WONDERFUL. they sell big big big big packs at wholesale prices though not a lot of variety, but gd enough! its always refreshing to walk arnd new places instd of the usu place (town) . so i guess we'll be going there again!

BUT my stitching needle disappeared mysteriously!!! then we went to holland v, this time with rach anf grace too..but the dun seem to like it as much as yw n i did. haha..there are so many pet shops there!! but so sad the kittens we saw were gone!!!!! :(

went to sch for a geog briefing on howt o use the weather data logging equipment so that we can use it for tmr's fieldwork of analysing the weather data arnd bishan. (yeah, thts what geoggers do...hahah) not particularly interested but oh well...

HOLLAND V IS MY NEW LOVE!!!

yw brought me to holland v to check out the bead shop, shall tok abt it later. holland v rocks man! the shopping centre had really exotic stuff, not those stuff that u see all arnd town! nice accessories and handcrafted items, and there was this lim's art and living-furniture and lifestyle shop. and yw and i kept thinking abt how we will put so much effort into decorating our own hse nxt time....ahh....

so we spent and hr plus at the shopping centre, then went to the bead shop, which was qt a big disappointment. i was really expecting to see very nice stuff lotsa cool crystals and beads. but no. the stuff there were very plastic looking and cant even compare to the faux crystals i get frm where i usu buy my stuff at far east.

well, besides the disappointment, the rest of holland v was nice! and the starbucks there was kinda cool, very cosy feeling. went to taka to meet rach and ate. there was this fashion show going on in taka, but hmm, cant compare to the haute couture ones during SFF. not telling u when or what SFF is, if u havent known. if u are interested in haute couture, u shud look out for stuff like this urself, jus like i did :)

OH..i must mention! we passed by this pet shop in the holland v shopping centre. they had baby parrots that were DARN cute!!!!! they were so small, and too cute to be real! there was this blu and greyish-white one, SO CUTE! and a pair of yellow/ green ones, with bright red beaks. their eyes are so round they look fake DAMN CUTE. then, there was also 3 kittens!!!! i only like kittens..i dun like cats, some look evil, and they're very cold. the kittens were like furballs! and one was playing with this tinsel pompom. SO CUTE!!!! and there was this sikly terrier pup. awww...and there were abt 5 baby rabbits too! and some guinea pigs. AH! i want to live in the pet shop!!!!

well, the paper ended damn early...at 8.50 am and obviously no shops were open then. hail coffeebean for being the only place to hang out at that time. so we had brkfast, and we spent qt a lot of time at kino, looking at my wonderful fashion illustration books. but it was only abt 12. so we went to far east and walked arnd (my shoes! heehee) and eventually met up with yw to chill at big o. hahh, there was this toy shop opp it, and they sell those really cute mini house stuff! aww...like little sets of kitchen furniture, sofa, dining table, and also mini sets of clothes and shoes! then we went to invest 1 buck in a capsule keychain. i got the pooh heffalump one! so cute! then we whiled more time away at borders b4 we headed home. soo...there's gonna be no mental processing involved in my life frm now till sch reopens. ta~

went ice skating with my sis yest and fell on my butt abt 5 times. i think i fell on my tailbone..still hurts a bit. her fren is a coach there! so she helped us a bit. i slacked off the whole of yest, watching 2 hrs of korean drama at nite after coming home frm ice skating and dinner.
yw mms-edme today to show me this very nice pair of earrings she made. i cant wait for exmas to be over! so much to do! so much fun! and the peak of my studying cycle is over...hai

after experiencing 9..close to 10 months of jc life, i've decided to sum it up in a few of my own ideas and thoughts abt it.

jc. a intermediate stage where we are exposed to the real world. little shelter, nobody there to push you to do work. self discipline, self preservation is needed. there are so many things happening arnd u, so many things u need to do, that sometimes its hard to find time to just be yourself, keeping the core of yourself intact.
as for friendships, i've come to a whole new level of understding about friendships this yr. it is not sth that can last forever. honestly, i dun believe in a 'friends forever' anymore. i have too many experiences on that. partly also cos i need someone who can share my thoughts and understd me deep down to call a gd friend. i've realised there is a need to constantly make the effort to reach out, to interact with old friends, who have been separated or taken out of your daily lives. i tried that, but it was only a one-off thing. and some experiences abt family love have also made me conclude that, indeed, nothing is more impt than one's family. not even friends. when u realise that the social world arnd u is peeled off, all you have left with you, or that's left supporting u thru, is ur family.

the day didnt start off so well. i had a bad dream...bad to the extent that i actually cried when i woke up... then was almost late if the bus had been slightly later.

lessons were alrite, breezed past with me not eating anth at all! hahah, so proud of myself. the MOST entertaining of all, the pinnacle of excitement, was when we carried out our well-planned ploy on some delusional girl. yes. sadly very delusional. i think i had the grtest laugh in ages! oh and uncle peanut, if you're reading this, mai ah ni beng ay sai bo?!?! *zips back to civilised tone*

yay!! im so happy!! as rachel noes, i've been on a hello panda craze and today my dream came true. my family went to og orchard and they have this whole big section of nice jap and korean snacks. YUM! SOOOOO i grabbed a HUGE box of hello panda(with 10 indiv packs)! (chocolate of course!!) and im so happy with it now!!

ah well..sch's starting AGAIN. how dreadful. managed to plough thru mkt str and half of wages. i have an ominous feeling abt my econs though..hopefully maths and geog will turn out alrite.

yw rachel and i were discussing abt ways to earn money, i prob can do some writing for mags? if possible, and giving tuition (to like pri sch kids...easier..haha) and perhaps short term piano lessons. my bank acct balance is sad..really.

went for a buffet lunch at hotel phoenix with my sis's bf's family. the durian mousse cake was so yummy!!!! and the prata curry was gd too :)

today was relatively productive. finally ploughed thru mkt structure and sorted out my thots. and also pop geog. phew. a few more days to go. it's so near, yet still seems so far away (when u think abt all the grt things u wanna do after promos) i really cant wait anymore!!!

hmm, sometimes, i jus feel that little tinge of regret for not continuing in music. wonder how i would have turned out if i did. but, seriously lah, my music isnt that grt...but i think it was in sec 2 or 3, that i started to appreciate classical music. i feel that it is the earliest and purest form of music, and the wonders of it! ancient ppl with so much imagination to create such wonderful pieces.
i feel that this yr had been so hectic, time flying past so quickly that i didnt really have the time to indulge in the aesthetics, as much as i used to. i hardly sketched this yr, hardly went for any concerts, listening to new songs, etc. hai

back to studying. cant believe its a yr gone soon...and 1/2 of jc life too.

that is rachel's take on "Heart of Darkness" which is not to be trusted. we were trying hard to read online summaries anda few pages of the book for the reading test. and thnks to the link that jy sent me, i was able to not make my paper totally empty.

hmm. spent the 2 hrs break fairly efficiently with grace. i think studying in the classrm is better than in the lib. the lib is too big, too distracting, too cold. yay managed to get my summary for econ geog done, left with a little section. and did section A of my maths tut! woohoo!! hope tht all days to come will be as productive.

there was absolutely not a soul at the pe dept/ pe area except for a trickle of us. sooo...since there was an exam going on in the hall, and there were no tchers and otehr students there, we assumed that there was no pe!

i think that quiz (look below) is rather accurate! hmm...

niwae, went thru econ geog and summed it up in a nice mindmap during tut today. well, im pretty comfortable with it, but seems like i gotta organise my notes (aka redo) according to the pts. im someone who 1) must have colourful notes. my sis's notes are all in pencil. but she's smart, period. 2) i must have the pts stated very clearly, im not those who can fish out pts among a lot of other pts. 3) even tho some ppl may think my note-making aint't effective, i just HAVE to write down the pts, tho it may seem like copying the whole txtbk.

ok let's see. i still have human geog, complex and differentiation, and term 3/4 econs to go. tht's the first round. there shall be another round the wk b4.


my sis had been pestering me to watch herbie: fully loaded with her for the past wk, so i've started calling her herbie. yes, finally she watched it today, and lo and behold! jus found out frm my dad that, herbie IS the name of that model of VW beetle. i thot it was jus tht particular one in the fully loaded movie. haha, pardon my apathy in the car genre.

hmm. studying was gd today, stuck to my to-do-list, and qt productive i must say! but when i was making notes for slopes, i was wondering. who on earth cares about gilbert's hypothesis of soil creep and the Carson and Kirkby model !?!?! hai...too bad i chose geog. mind you, i do love geog, but it really gets kinda boring yeah? but it sure beats physics. hahha, biased opinion.

went to sch today for some pc session with mr ng. well, it was really loooonnnnggg...frm 10.30 to nearly 2pm. he touched on the braoder themes on frost, like boundaries between 2 opposing things and how the poet creates that space of boundary, that fine line between what's in our imagination or in reality.

then i RUSHED home for my da chang jin re-run cos i missed it last night. those of you out there who says da chang jin is an auntie show!!!! MIND YOU!!! it's not!! hahaha. its genuinely nice lah, i think it beats mediacorp dramas. in fact, i havent even watched a single mediacorp drama since...last yr? it jus repeats itself over and over again. more or less. i think the last one i watched was san shi feng yu lu (30 tumultous years) with huang bi ren, that was qt nice...i like those set in the olden days. like he shui shan!!! (Bukit Ho Swee) abt 2 yrs ago, with allan wu..hahah. i rmb when silver frm superstar sang this really duper old song frm some mediacorp drama abt 10 yrs ago, i cud recognise it!! its jus gets worse lah har...over the yrs, ppl run out of ideas.

yeah, so i shud zip back to work now. i will not make today another unproductive day.

woohoo...once again, i've experienced the wonder of retail therapy. feeling contented now :)

my sis is leaving on the 29th..when she first came back. it felt so weird that she's back cos i had been so used to the solitude. but now that i realise what a big part she plays in my life, its hard to part again. but oh well, at least i've experienced it. i hate the way time passes so quickly and we grow up so quickly. growing up brings along with it a lot of problems that we have to face, that we have to go thru and learn from (the hard way). i really miss sec sch days. all the girlish company, the great memories. the fun we had is inexplicable. i wish i can always be 16.



im so bothered...i dun think i did the right thing. i think im over-reacting, i think studying is making me mad.
