You Are A Good Friend

You're always willing to listen

Or lend a shoulder to cry on

You're there through thick and thin

Many people consider you their "best friend"!

Your Birthdate: October 17

Your birth on the 17th day of the month suggests that you are very lucky financially, because this date indicates a solid business sense.

Although you are probably very honest and ethical, this birthday enables you to be shrewd and successful in the world of business and commercial enterprise.

You have excellent organizational, managerial, and administrative capabilities enabling you to handle large projects and significant amounts of money with relative ease.

You are ambitious and highly goal-oriented, although you may be better at starting projects than you are at finishing them.

A sensitivity in your nature, often repressed below the surface of awareness, makes it hard to give or receive affection.

( the last 2 paragraphs are so SUPER DUPER TRUE!!!!!!!!!)

i think im drifting from old friends. its sad to know that you are still clinging on to memories when u see that others have moved on. and i jus keep qning myself, who really, are those true friends (cos there seem to be none..except one..) and i cant help but think abt what will happen to my friends now.

just watched 'eternal sunshine' on scv...yeah, its nice. its a very special movie, as in the techniques, the way the story is told, in a very weird chronology. but yeah. the title comes from a quote by Alexander Pope:

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;

it's abt innocence, which i do greatly miss. wouldnt it be nice (cadbury!) if we were back to innocent childhood days? no worries~

haiz, trying to get down to serious studying today..yep. on tue, we had an interact day camp for children frm whispering hearts day care centre. oh gdness!! how noisy can they get!! and i bet all interacters have hailed lynn to be the mother of interact, while rich is the father!! just look at how they handle those kids!!! making them enthu (well, it's ncie to hear them cheering so loudly! it's been long since we've heard or done sth like tht) , and making them obey instructions. i take my hats off to them! weren't we relieved when they all were finally packed off in a bus! and someone said "well, at least i learnt sth. i'll never open a childcare centre!!!!" hahahah

yest was my mum's bday. had econs lesson in the morning in a freezing seminar rm..till abt 1 pm..yeah, then came home to watch a movie on HBO, and then went out with my mum to meet my sis and dad for her bday dinner. ate A LOT! had buffet at hotel inter-continental (bugis) and...well, just ate a lot. but it was qt yummy!

niwae, spking of HBO, those of u who have it at home, pls do watch 'the last samurai' its niiiccceee...and there's 'eternal sunshine on the spotless mind' too! how gd can cable tv get!

oh yeah, rachel and i made a pact to create nice long wish lists for our bday, and also a bday bash plan! hahah . here goes my wish list
-Bond's first CD (Born) or Third (Classified)
-Phantom of the Opera music score..perhaps? ahhah
(a violiN!! haha, qt impossible )

haizm was attempting maths 'extra qns'. not as easy as it seems. makes me feel that my maths is still stuck at sec 4 :x after watching this vcd that my dad bought frm china, abt this performance of a dance troupe (made up of deaf/ mute ppl) called "qian shou guan yin" (thousand hands of guanyin) and how they managed to learn the dance, and even perform at the closing ceremony of Athens'04 even tho they cant hear the music. feeling the urge to pick up sign language.

argh, looking at stacks of notes is not helping..they are a constant nag at the back of my head "u've gotta study me! exams are coming" AND! i think my PW's kinda dead and *poof* gone. argh argh argh. hope tmr's class outings will lift my spirits a little

Thursday, May 26, 2005

yest's class outing was qt fun :) everyone was hyper and high..in holiday mood. then we went nydc to eat, haha, lulu and yw exploited allan, their walking atm! ahahah qt hilarious.

today morn, there was no CV, so we spent time henna-ing ourselves (and jh!) and were qt hyper again. i think its the pre holiday mood, everybody's happy and high!! and at the end of the day, for GP lesson, there was this ppl from...what's the org? yeah, they were promoting thsir service of helping ppl understand the rights and wrongs in doing things, and how to achieve dreams and stuff. as u can see from my msn nick 人生不是一个可以预算的方程式. the way the ppl put things seems to me that they think that life (everyone's) fall into place nicely like there was a formula. but no! they say, they can help and guide u thru with their experiences and all, and everyone has their own pattern of doing things and they will help u explore how to achieve ur drms with tht.

for me, it is not a very relevant case...cos i have a dream to pursue and will surely welcome anth that comes my way and can help me! but for this one.....they sound a bit too confident. they wanna teach u abt the rights and wrongs of things (studies, business, work, relationships) and avoid u frm making mistakes. but its so so so so wrong. esp for relationships. everyone we come into contact with is different, each and everyone needing different tactics and communication skill to get across, and its so wrong to think that there's a formula for tht. i understd what i have mentioned above (cos i've experienced that) and i think that, one really has to explore the boundaries to everyone u're in contact with to really noe how far u can go, what u can/ cannot say to tht person.

life can never be a predictable formula

HAIZZZZZ....i cant believe that there's still mm's lesson later!!! argh. lee is sick, so tht means we have a 2 hr brk. and i wanna hammer doggie, cos he can officially go home. :( argh.......hope she faints later during a class b4 us, so we can go off....argh. cant believe that we are gonna have such a problematic tcher for the rest of 2 yrs. (well, it's actually 1/4 of our JC life gone!!)

jus watched bond on tv..they nv fail to spark my desire to pick up violin or any of the string instruments- equally beautiful.

today is such an unproductive day. plus my mum pulled me out to meet up with her fren, and they spent like 3/4 of the time looking at pots...which didnt exactly interest me. and she was contemplating for really long, which size of the pot she shud buy. and i told her rite from the start to buy that size (which she eventually did) but she took so long...sigh, housewives' woes.

sigh, i actually realised how long i havent been in town when i saw so much changes!! the food stalls in far east, the cafe outside scotts, the esprit inside scotts, argh! for the first time in 2 yrs i actually sat down in the coffeebean i used to work at (for work experience) it was really fun! but now, all the ppl have changed...it's qt sad sometimes to realise that things are changing so quickly when u're still holding on to ur memories.

hmm, so much hmwk to do over the wkend!!!

Friday, May 20, 2005

there are a few things this wk that make me happy :)
1) 2.4km run. hard work paid off, got an A *beams*
2) Maths quiz. i paid attention in class!!!
3) swimming

yeah. i feel very nostalgic and happy when some old friends reunite on friendster. tht is the most meaningful purpose of friendster, besides keeping in touch with more current friends. joyce..(what's her surname? :X) frm p4 found me...and wow, made me realise how long it's been and really glad she still rmbs me. i rmb that her chi name was huili. cos we had 2 joyce-s and 2 huili-s in class. This yr, i've also reunited with grace ng!!!! my best friend in p4!!! cute little girl, didnt change much, and indirectly found her back from grace tan. oh and pearl, my really really really ancient fren!!! knew her since p1, she lived in the same block as me (level 17!) and we took the same sch bus). and i hope to find my MOST ANCIENT BEST FRIEND. Yee Wan Lee. why do i say most ancient? i've known her since k1!!!! all the way to pri sch. and i still rmb incidents from kindergarten: every friday, we get to play at the playgrnd outside our pap, so we have to bringour water bottles. she didnt bring hers tht day and i offered to share mine but tcher said cannot...so she had to stay indoors. and in p2 or p3 i think, we secretly bought some soft drink...7 up? and shared it, then my mum saw and scolded me and said how unhygenic that was...hahahahah

i rmb a song by elva hsiao, that translates to be, 'life is circle, friends part and reunite'. indeed, indeed.

haha, actually JC is the time when lots of pri sch frens reunite...esp nanyang pri i think...going to JC is like reuniting with more than half of yr pri sch ppl!!!

today felt quite slack, bos lit tcher was not here, so we went to eat instd..and the lessons were relatively light, so time went by quite quickly. then during pe, our class had alrdy finished the 5 items while our partner class had not, so we were left alone to do our own stuff and we went gymming again! so fun! treadmill-ed and did some other stuff lah..haha, half serious, half playing
then slacked around in sch for a while b4 i went to town to meet rachel after she collected her cert. firstly we went topshop to see her legendary $108 bag...it's too big for me...so haha, didnt really like it, but she likes it..so oh well. then we went sasa on a perfume spraying frenzy!!! i have a big fetish for scents!!! then we jus smelt many stuff and when we think that we've tried too much (sas salesgirls keep following ppl arnd onez) , we jus sprayed our fave on ourselves (d&g light blue and gucci envy me) b4 we left..haha, so cheapskate rite? but hahah, damn fun.
THEN, we went to pig out at taka, she ate tako pachi, i ate her old addiction- pop-doh..alrite lah..hahah, maybe cos i dun really have a thing for doughnuts. and after we paced up and down, we made the final decision-- to buy venezia *YUM YUM* haha, so we shared a 2 scoop- a more economical decision. we had this...sth tht starts with G (hazelnut choc) and mint w choc...YUM! hahahha. we went forever 21 to look arnd and were amazed that their accessories were qt cheap!! like 7-9 bux! quite surprising
then finally amazing grace arrived so we went to PS and ate lah. took lotsa stupid photos. sadly, the "class outing" had only 5 ppl from our class + cat's bf....sighz...sad-ed. yeah, quite beat now...so gonna slp!

Tuesday, May 10, 2005

rained all afternoon today, so had 5 items for pft instd. not that bad after all! i would consider that as a breeze-thru. im amazed by my own sbj and ipu!! hahahah...now i jus have to run a b for 2.4 which is within expectation to get a gold! hmmmppph. not bad not bad! but i pulled a muscle during shuttle run :x

the frost 'assignment' was qt alrite...starting to see a lot of parallels and common themes among his poems BUT i got to carried away doing those parallel stuff that i forgor abt the rhyme scheme, rhyme scheme, RHYME SCHEME!!! argh..and it was the simplest of all times.the aabbccdd type argharghagr.

Sunday, May 08, 2005

sth is playing a trick on me! i wasnt able to make it for dance nite..(after buying the tix stupidly) so i asked arnd to sell it. and now tht somebody needs it, i can actually go alrdy...ARGH..my dance nite....sigh...going for piano ensemb instd lah..their line up of songs quite gd

i think im quite a classic case of 'xiao shi liao liao da wei bi jia'. i guess i wasnt too bad in my studies when i was young....but sth happened along the way..and now i see ppl who might not have been as "bright" doing better than me..i feel stupid....why didnt i work hard enuf..tht kinda thing

i totally agree with rachel abt the no-life thing. i think im qt a no-lifer. i wish life was more interesting..like what i have in my mind for my future life........... i think i can be quite a loner....if u really really really know me well...u can tell that my life is only made up of a small grp of ppl, revolved arnd a few activities. and i depend on these heavily to make up what i deem as a life and what i feel i belong to. like my personality test...i really feel the need to belong to sth..and i guess now, i can only feel belonged to that grp of frens in class...yeah. outside that? nothing

ever wondered why i named my site 'tranquility- the heart's angel' ?

angels. not seen, not heard. i think that tranquility is a hidden, transparent state of mind that everyone experiences and deep down inside of us, we feel this sense of peace, but we seldom take note of it or realise its existence. therefore, tranquility is our heart's angel -- residing in our hearts, yet not seen, not heard

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------quite tired today...went gymming with thiviya, grace, cat...and did treadmill. fun! i must say that running on treadmill is indeed nicer than running in the open/ on the tracks..how i wish that 2.4 run is on the treadmill!! (not hot 4pm suN!!) well, jas came back! so after PE, toked for a while with jas and felly. and hoho! a heavy downpour after days of humidity (check out grace's humidity indicator man!!) but i got caught in that heavy rain and got my back wet..in an attempt to protect my bag and its contents

Monday, May 02, 2005

if u havent realised, i am incorrigibly addicted to the net! i dun think i can not use the net for one day...even though the stuff i do are always the same (check blog, class blog, friendster, hotmail, occcasionally neopets) and they are not exactly essential...i still have to use the net...it's as if i need to feel a sense of assurance..i want to know if someone emailed me. i want to know if anyone tagged me, i want to know if anyone responded to the class blog entry...it's so weird. it's as if my life is wholly constituted by these stuff and there are not many other things that can preoccupy me.

there was qt a lot of hmwk for the wkend..but it went on qt well..kinda boring tho, nothing much happened this wkend except the mothers' day dinner for my grandma. yummy food!!!! cant wait for class outing to be confirmed!! miss the days when we went out for class dinner/ outing (which ends up being dinner anyway) nearly every wkend

sometimes i wonder if i should have quitted all my other ccas...cos now, i feel rather.....~floaty~ in that sense...having only one cca...no feeling of rootedness...somehow

Sunday, May 01, 2005

SPIC yest was qt fun...but sadly, one home FORGOT to come..so we only had like abt 10 ppl...yeah. so after the games stalls were abandoned (which was pretty quick) the game stall masters hopped to the food stalls! yummy chwee kuay, chee cheong fan, popiah, etc. had lotsa fun rolling popiah. and the jap food ppl ran out of seaweed so they koped the popiah skin to make sushi...aww...didnt get to try. so yeah, it was all in all very fun!
but after everyone siam-ed, the comm had to stay back and do some post-mortem stuff, and suba, von n i just couldnt bear to throw away all the leftover food, which were in perfect condition..so we pigged out on leftovers, like tuna spread with crackers, and chee cheong fan, and pineapple (from the rojak stall).
enjoyed it, despite the disappointing turnout. had henna done on my hand too *beams*
