geog rocks!

man i'll miss this place

err...70% of my class or 80%? haha (now you witness the severe lack of male presence!)
im SURE that there is a lit bk thief going around. or some locker spirit that steals books. grace lost her m4m and robert frost, rachel lost her robert frost and I the UNLUCKY SOUL. lost 2 BOOKS WITHIN A TERM. i really have no IDEA at all where they've gone! i have even pulled out my drawers to see if they've fell behind, and NO they are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. but on the other hand, i've no idea who could have broken into my locker, i mean the few of us who borroweach other's lockers sometimes would know one and another's combi but that can only limit the possible ppl down to 3 or 4 who could have taken them home wrongly. or maybe there's a THIEF GOING ARND STEALING LIT BKS COS THEY DUN HAVE THEIR OWN TO STUDY. if you're whoever i know and you're reading this and you see my name YAP ZHI XIN on the first page of the bks WOMAN WARRIOR AND HEART OF DARKNESS and you feel guilty, pls return it. if i really cant findthem and none of my frens have taken them by mistake, im going to the office estate management and request to look at the security videos or sth. it cant be so many lost bks from one row of lockers. I WILL TRACK YOU DOWN WHOEVER YOU ARE. there is a camera facing RIGHT at my locker. beware u thief

I'll Hear Your Voice

And now that we've reached the end,
I think of all that's passed
of how the time that went so fast
and of how I've come to depend
upon the faith I feel inside your guiding hands

Say you'll go with me forever, though I know that you can't
Well I ain't much with words
There's nothin' I could say that you ain't heard
But I promise you that each and every day

I'll hear your voice
In every thought that flows through my mind
I'll see your face
In every cloud that floats through my sky
And when the world is too much
and the hurt's got me down on my knees to pray
I'll hear your voice
and you won't be so far away

Do you remember a moonless night?
With only sound for a view,
funny what an ocean can do
It was then that we knew this was right,
and that the arms we shared we'd share so many nights

Say you'll go with me wherever, even though I know it's just a dream
Though I know it's unknown,
It's something that I gotta do alone
But I swear to you I could never do anything without your soul inside

I'll hear your voice
In every thought that flows through my mind
I'll see your face
In every cloud that floats through my sky
And when the world is too much
and the hurt's got me down on my knees to pray
I'll hear your voice
and you won't be so far away

Someday I'll hold you, and we will be sailin'
and I will never have to say goodbye again
Til then, til that day
I'll hear your voice, and you won't be so far away.

that's the song the squigs performed for our seniors during their prom and that seems jus like yest. thought the lyrics are pretty appropriate for this point in time, now that we've reached the end. it really hasnt sunk in yet but we have reached it. and i cant help but wonder where the days have gone - complaints, complaints but now that it's gone we learn to treasure it.

that day my dad was just explaining to me the story behind the 1812 overture, and that reminded me of my interest in music some yrs ago. and dropping piano will be that eternal regret at the back of my head. and that also reminded me that there's sth else i ought to do post A's, which is going for a concert/performance! i havent done that for REAL long. hmm, that last performance i went was dance night, which seemed really really long ago. and anyway, phantom of the opera is coming to sg!!!! for 07 march! if you wanna go please tell me! hahaha, i hope that i can make it for this singapore run. $50 for students

sigh. 3 more days to the official end of day. it's a mixed feeling i think. will miss geog lessons cos i love the small grp and the interaction with the teachers, and some teachers, friends...somehow this 2 yrs were very transient. i cant say i love my sch, because i think that only comes when you are very attached to ccas, hse or groups which im not obviously (check out my wondrously short cca form) but i will miss its environment as well...im really glad i got to stay and of cos i will miss my favouritest junior aminah! sigh...its hard to put into words, with everything going so fast

i cant believe this is my last WEEK non-tertiary education. like the last week of uniforms, classes, student travel fares...it's scary! man, and this yr just FLEW past like that. and most of the time we've spent on books and somehow have become numb to the fact that we're leaving, farewell, sob sob kinda thing. really cant believe this! seems like yesterday when we first met our classes

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

sigh..how i've enjoyed the past few days of new found freedom...which will soon be taken from us AGAIN. YET AGAIN. and how am i spending this last holiday? lazing around at home, making jewelry, doing things i havent done for ages (like read that pile of time magazines since last yr). and i say this with utmost sincerity- I DONT WANNA GO BACK TO SCH!! :( :( i know its like the last few weeks of sch and i should be treasuring my time with my frens blah blah, but my class? i've probably said this before but somehow friends don't stay with me throughout the years..like how some close friends from secondary drifted even though we're in the same sch. im just glad the 401 girls are still ok and we meet once in a while (like when jasmine comes back). i jus hope that my current friends stay!

man, can you imagine that about less than 2 more months from now we'll ALL BE FREE!!!!!! that's when i must make sure EVERY SINGLE DAY is packed with activities. freedom is too precious to be wasted at home. i wanna travel so badly!! but its qt hard to organise an overseas trip, seeing how my class severely lacks male presence. and i want to leanr a new language, learn sewing, get a job...etc etc CANT WAIT alrdy.

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

my mum would be so proud of me!!! i just cleaned up my room!! i cleared my stuff, filed them away, stacked them nicely in my cupboard, reduced the clutter throwing away heaps of paper that i've used (im trying to see how large a pile of rough paper i can collect, ahha, my family sells the scrap paper to garang guni. might as well right, got money plus can recycle!). and boy....i still have one more paper. that sucks. and it also sucks that i end 11 days later than ms gan for the A's..it's not cos of s paper lor. even my main papers are later than hers. why oh why.

niwae, after the paper i wasnt jubilant or ecstatic or anything. just numb. ok lor, end alrdy lor. hahha, need time to transit to play mode man ahha. then we watched the movie Banquet. i must say it was pretty disappointing! shall try not to give spoilers (btw it's NC16 and woohoo! the first time i watched a rated movie legally!! the last time was...mystic river in sec 4? oh and that hmm, zombie show which was M18. felt good to be legal baby!)
1) Daniel wu's role was a wuss. whole day want to die want to die only
2) im pretty unsatisfied with the ending. i think zhang ziyi should have lived in guilt and it would end a "evil triumphs over good" kind of note....sounds like one of those lit bks....
3)it is INCESTUOUS. firstly, zhang ziyi was daniel wu's girlfriend before his father the emperor married her, and thus she becomes his stepmother. THEN, the emperor's bro usurped his throne and er...his woman as well, and so, zhang ziyi became her ex husband's brother's wife. THEN, zhou xun's bro seemed to express some...umm...beyond brotherly affections for her. damn incestuous k.

and whoever that reporter was who wrote that zhou xun stole the show was utterly biased agnst zhang ziyi or sth, cos obviously zhang ziyi did. she was evil to the core, as her role is supposed to be..partly. and zhou xun was just this innocent little girl. ahha, but anyway it was a little hmm annoying when the rolling credits showed zhang ziyi's name as "ziyi zhang" like what the....she's chinese still right, and the other names were in the normal arrgment. hmm, dun qt like this americanisation of her.

anyway, nxt moie im gonna catch? miami vice. gong li is hot hot hot. ok i sound les, but seriously man! she's not like...pretty as in sweet kinda pretty, but like..gorgeous kinda hot. like steaming hot. ahhah, her stare is so icy and sharp. haha gong li!
got this in the email. yeah i know, some of you may think it's cliched and all, but i especially liked the parts i bold. i think no matter what religion you are it does apply in some sense. and i admit i'm indeed not a very religious person in this manner.

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation.
Satan went to visit Jesus in the Garden of Eden,
and Satan came all happy and boasting. (Lk 4: 1-12; Job 1: 6-12)

"Yes, Lord, now I have everybody captive,
(well nearly everybody down there).
I set traps, I used the baits of temptation,
I know well what each one of them can't resist.
I nearly caught them all!" (I Pet 5: 8-9; Eph 6: 10-17)

"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.
and He was praying to God the Father.

Satan answered "Oh, I am going to have some fun with them!"
I'll make them divorce after they have married
so the foundation of humanity will never be able to be established
"the family" (Mt 19: 4-6; Mal 2: 16)

I will make them hate each other and abuse each other,
make them fall into alcohol and drugs without control. (Rom 13: 12-14)

I will teach them to make weapons and bombs,
so they kill each other

"I am really going to have fun!"

"And when you are tired of playing with them, what will you do?"
Jesus asked. And continued praying

"Oh, I will kill them all and their souls will be mine forever"
"Lord by all respect, it's their decision" (I Jn 3: 8-10)

"How much do you want for all of them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, you can't want these people. They aren't anything good.
Why do you want them if they neither follow you nor love you?
Many hate you! I have seen many of them spitting on you, cursing you and
even denying you."
"What's more, they love me a lot" (Mt 24: 10-13)
"You don't want these people!!"

"How much?" Jesus asked again

Satan looked at him with a nasty face

"All your tears and all your blood,
all the pain of the entire world, all together" (Is 53: 4-10; I Pet 2: 24)

Jesus said..."DONE"

"and He paid the price" (II Cor 5: 21)

How terrible it is that people don't seek for God,
and then ask themselves why the world is going to hell!

How terrible that we seek the newspaper everyday to read tragedies
and we never seek the Bible

How insensible it is how everybody wants to go to heaven,
thinking they can get there without having to believe,
without loving God above all things,
or doing what the Bible says...the Laws of God.

It is terrible how some people can say "I believe in God"
but still follow Satan (Who as matter of fact, does fear God)
(II Tim 4: 3-4; II Jn 1: 7-11)

Don't you think it's pathetic how they send
each other thousands of jokes by email,
so they spread like plagues.

But when it's about the Lord's messages,
we think about it twice before we share them;
and we leave the mailboxes of our friends without this message

Don't you think it is outrageous that the obscene,
vulgar and crude is allowed freely to pass through the internet
that even many people would desire to get into the screen.

But it is forbidden to speak publicly about Jesus
in the schools, places of work
self-helping groups, etc... (Acts 4: 19-20)

Even after knowing what He did for us.
Because the Romans didn't kill Him. It was our sin.
that we may be forgiven
and know Him in His glory with the Father.

Doesn't it seem incredible to you how somebody can be alight
on Sabbath in the Church,
worshipping and thanking the Lord for His mercy,
for one more day to live etc.

But during the rest of the week he is an invisible Christian! (II Tim 3:
1-5; Rom 10: 9-13)

Does this seem just to you?

Don't let Satan stop you sending this Mail
to all your contacts on the Web,
It doesn't matter if he tells you that many don't believe this

May God bless you always (II Cor 13: 13)

by the end of this prelims, i'd have about written 31 essays (considering a drq as one)!!! oh my gosh. im so proud of myself. and janice is correct! geog paper was a bladder and arm endurance test HAHA. seriously ah, why must they torture to finish essays in such a short time?! 1st, the markers have to suffer from our gross and illegible handwriting (no wonder cambridge takes so long!) 2nd, we don't sound coherent near the back, like geog ah sometimes no time to change to nicely phrased sentences, and adding things here and there makes it really messy. i CANT WAIT for next wk to come oh please come.

i got this in an email, which said that a young girl from new york who has cancer wrote it. no matter whether it's spam or not, it makes so much sense and i find myself nodding to the questions.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short

The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?

When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores
Running through your head? (yes)

You’d better slow down

Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Ever told your child

We’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,”Hi” (yes)

You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.

The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

exam times are very unpleasant. i forgo my hobby sleep leisure exercise (feels wobbles) times, my table is like a war zone (even after cleaning up), my nose is itching like mad, im falling sick soon, and my mind is blank. i really dunno whether that's a gd sign. like ct2, my mind is now rather blank and numb. so i really REALLY have no idea if im absorbing all these that im revising. how now brown cow. thank you gregory for that quote from george bernard shaw .
"Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not." i won'y forget but for now it's just postponed. now its earning the moolah first and when i've gained financial power I call the shots and do what i want muahahaha

ooh. my horoscope says: stop pretending that this is enough.the stars want you to follolw your passion. what genuinely moves you? what would you do for free? set your sights in that direction.

haha it's a SIGN. what i would do for free? hmm, sth like andrea sachs job (in devil wears prada). just let me go to paris fw (and hobnob with karl lagarfeld and friends. ahha)

Tuesday, August 29, 2006

my mum showed me this article in the wanpao today abt this little pri sch girl whose mum encouraged her to join some cdc fashion design competition and apparently won sth, and my mum was like saying, so this is what you wanna do is it? and i said yes. and i thought, if only she could be more understanding of my likings and if only my family was one that is more encouraging of being different or being beyond conventional and not one that would have expectations of just settling for the conventional. i mean, sometimes, success or satisfaction doesnt just come from being conventional, following suit, earning a proper living and more or less comfortable. sometimes, there is much more beyond that. like i read on today, where they asked the 77th st founder (elim chew?) about whether passion for one's job is overrated. i agree with her lah, about the pt that if you dont have the passion for sth, gonig to work would just be a chore cos you're merely there to earn a living lor, get by each day like that lor. then what, waste your youth away? but, i also think that words like "follow your dreams" "dream like noone can say no" that kinda things, are bullshit in this world. go tell a 18yr old singapore jc student, who has a beyond conventional dream (ie not doctor, scientist yada yada) that and see if they tell you it;s possible.

i can personally tell you, no it's not possible. partly cos of my family as well. but seriously, when you're at this stage, there's so much at stake and obviously no sane person would give up all that. a less that encouraging family isnt gonna help much too. but somehow i'm over that phase already. i think the stubborness and drive is a sec sch thing that i've kinda gotten over.

there's another phase that i've gotten over but my mum is bringing it up again. braces!!there was a time in sec 3 when i REALLY REALLY wanted to get braces but my mum said no, it's very painful its very troublesome blah blah, and now she sees her fren's daughter having nice teeth she starts talking about it again. and now that im over it, she says its gd and nice and blah blah. and i told her, when i really wanted it you say no! but now she's given me the approval to go ahead if i really want to. so i shall conduct some opinion polls and decide if i want to have them. haha. sigh. sometimes, one should really just consider and ponder over sth less. when in doubt jus buy/get/do it. sometimes acting on an impulse (for harmless things i mean) makes one happier than regretting later on!

Wednesday, August 23, 2006

having mini fridges in class rocks. first of all, we had whipped cream and strawberries, then we turn on the heating function and have warm melted cheese subways, next, we have khong guan biscuits with carnation milk (which everyone loves now cos i recommended it) and we also have nice cold m&ms which are, by the way, the in-est thing in the cosmetics world. m&ms colouring for lipsticks, how's that!!

the playground near my hse is almost done with renovati0n, but sadly, it'll be one of those rubber mat ones. i miss sand playgrounds!!!!! i guess this one is probably one the last ones around having sand :( yeah, i know its for kid's safety and all that, but kids need to grow up, they need to know what's pain and learn from that right? what's a scratch or two man? so now i cant take the swing and feel the warm sand between my toes, or scribble words with sticks on sand anymore. sigh.

Wednesday, August 16, 2006

there's so much at hand it gets a bit messy at times and at this point, its not sacrificing this for that because EVERYTHING is freaking impt and you cant afford to not do something. gosh.that's what i totally hate about being a j2 cos you make such crucial decisions amidst the preparation for the big A's.

this 2 weeks are gonna be a whirlwind. i have about a 100 slop retrt and transportatin theories to remember and a thousand other evidence for climotology and also a few million economic theories and their limitations to study PLUS a few gazillion math qns to do. maths is consuming me. i feel like im doing math every single moment. save me.

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

if i give this 2 yrs an overview, it would seem that they've passed very quickly, but if i look at individual events, it's actually been pretty damn long. like how i thought jasmine came back last yr when it was only new yr! and how i thought i last saw iris last yr when it was only during chingay. and it's really weird to think how our jc journey is ending soon (abt 3 wks left before the sept hols and not much time left after that) and how it's not gonna end in a nice, warm, sob-sob manner like pri sch or sec sch, cos this time we will be seriously mugging our asses off and there's not much time to sob and mope. but i must say that i probably will not feel the nostalgia cos my class is qt fragmented and all, and i won't miss THE class, but just individuals.

well, one thing i'll definitely rmb frm jc is the GEOG CLASSES!! i love geog classes!! they're most of the time fun and funny - with mr lee's samba dance and various entertaining gestures, and not to forget miss law's silly and blur moments ( like how she describes ridges as swiss rolls and how we always manage to irritate her somehow). the science ppl are very fun also lah, so we always have a great time and great laughs during geog. speaking of geog. i jus dreamt of rg miss pang the other day!

Wednesday, August 02, 2006

finally watched pirates last friday and zhiyi grace and i were having this little debate on whether orlando bloom looks nicer dirty a la will turner or spick and span a la legolas. ahhaha. and i LOVE jack sparrow!! he's really the one worth watching for in the movie. i must say i prefer pirates 1, i think the characters were stronger in their personalities. but anyway, i cant wait for pirates 3 to be out already. ahha! jack sparrow!!!

Saturday, July 29, 2006

yay to NO MORE PE! such a significant moment. NO MORE PE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. hahaha. i mean, pe has nv been truly enjoyable to me, so gd riddance! though i must say our pe teachers have been very nice and compromising. haha.

in case you havent realised,i've changed my pic --->> . i <3 the tango, and it's music too. and i've come to realise that i like monochrome photos, besides the fact that it matches my blog layout well. haha. but anyway, i really enjoy avant garde photog. it's sth i wouldn't mind trying out one day, and it'd be nice to do it for a living, though its one of those careers that you can nv be sure if you can even feed yourself

Saturday, July 22, 2006

yest was racial harmony day!! and our class dressed up again. it was pretty fun! ahha ( and sch passed relatively quickly, maybe cos we were deceived that we were not actually in sch since we weren't wearing sch u) .

the blues!

me and lulu the snake charmer. you gotta love her turban!

so sad! its our last RHD! like janice said, last time rg damn fun! 1) no sch 2) everybody dresses up and if u don't u're the minority 3) fun stuff, like carnivals, food, and henna painting, etc. i loved 04 RHD! our class honoured our "roots" and all wore saris ahhaha, the muthusamy-s!! and i have many idiotic pics too ahahha.

i rmb the first time i wore a baju kurong was in pri sch!! for this national day skit that our class put up in p5!! it was sth abt the jap invasion, so i was like one of the villagers. ahah, i know we had a cannon prop! haha, using those long paper rolls and boxes, then u noe how the story goes. the guns were pointing in the wrong direction cos the japs came from m'sia unexpectedly. hahha, i rmb ben and sam were like the jap soldiers and eddy was "lky" hahahah!! and minjie and chengyen were the photographers or sth. hahaha!! (i've gd memory!!) and then there were "Merdeka" signs arnd hahaha. pri sch kids qt smart also huh. ahha

then, it was meeting with the girls in town, since jasmine is back from Beijing

bryna and jas (bryna's skin is so flawless it glows!!!)

gaia, francesca, sherilyn, sharm
kahei and eve

what my last meal would be (assuming i have a bottomless pit)

starters:
pan fried SCALLOP PLEAASSEEE
peking duck!

main:
- thai green curry!!
-chicken rice with roast duck, char siew and roast pork-with saltish meat and crispy skin (the shao1 la4 shop stuff, bao ga liao!)

deserts:
-chocolate (top grade!)
-hilton cheese cake (new love!)

that's all for now. will update this when i think of more. hahaha. grace is rubbing off her gluttony on me!!
this is rather overdue, but i shall just post up the pics from chris' bday dinner at giraffe

with the birthday girl!

grace, i know you are hungry again!

the birthday 'cake' which is actually just 3 brownies put together, which we stuffed ourselves silly with!! it was too much! even had to play zhongjimima to get rid of it. giraffe served fusion food...but i felt the menu was a qt limited (after eliminating pastas) and im not too crazy about fusion food lah. The reservation was slightly screwed up SO...ALL the starters we ordered were ON THE HSE!! you should have seen the drop jaws - omg expressions and followed by the plan to rip them off and ordering more than half of the starters on the menu!! i think we ate more than 50 bucks worth of starters! ( the soft shell crab was mmmm....!)

what's an a03b event without some silly pictures!

compare and contrast

yum! says eunice

this is WACKY.
when will grace and rachel stop killing each other!

thank you chris, you're legal!

sch is such a bore/drag/pain that i dun even have anything to talk about when u ask me about sch. sigh! wat am i looking fwd to now....is...pirates 2!! <3<3 captain sparrow!!. besides this, nothing else at all. really.

Sunday, July 09, 2006

i watched pirates of the caribbean on channel 5 and i gotta say that i adore johnny depp and his role!! i guess he kinda has a rep for taking up quirky roles, like willy wonka in charlie and the chocolate factory, so capt jack sparrow is one of them. but he suits it sooooo well!! being that tipsy nutshell of a pirate..he's so hilarious! i read the life! report on pirates having a 3rd installment and how depp says he cant separate his role from his life anymore. he just grows into the character i think. i shall make him one of my fave actors, though he seems a little eccentric in person. he's characterises the role so well that u can't think of anyone else being that character. ok. after all that, i wanna watch dead man's chest!!

fyi, my last movie is STTILLLL memoirs of a geisha. omg. that's so long ago. rmb last time in sec 2 how i used to skip so many choir sessions and watch movie almost everytime i skip with em. that burnt my pockets but well, yeah. just as a comparison to my movie-going frequency now. ahha

just realised that aaron eckhart ( did i spell correctly?) is acting in Thank You for Smoking! He's hot! haha, watched this other show by him called Suspect Zero, a few yrs back i think and it was a nice one, psycho thriller.

Sunday, July 02, 2006

was watching the england-portugal match last nite and i knew grace was gonna be up watching c ronaldo. ahha, but anyway, last nite's matches were kinda exciting huh, powerhses meeting powerhses. and brazil is out!! was qt shocked cos they're a hot favourite huh?

anyway, i simply ADORE this life of slacking around and having too much time kinda feeling. SHIOK!

Friday, June 30, 2006

cts are over but why am i not happy at all. I wonder....

anyway, was reading the STOMP blog, and they were discussing the recent courtesy survey about people holding doors for you or thanking other people who do that for you. i do agree that singapore is not a very graceful society. why? i have no idea. is it an asian culture thing? is it because singaporeans are too selfish to simply care? (because all we've been taught since young boils down to "be kiasu! dun share! if you share u cant win!" no? and that competition in sch that makes us so selfish and perhaps narrow minded in a way?) i mean isnt it like reflex action to jus hold the door a bit longer for the next person? and it doesnt take your whole dignity and pride to thank someone right?

and about the service thing, i think sometimes we should just give them a break. i mean just think about it, if you're in the service industry and u meet a damn unreasonable person, does it give her/him any reason to abuse you with words? i think that "customer is always right" thing is so wrong. i know i can never be in the service industry cos i will just black face ppl who think im a dog who has to comply to their every demand. so, seriously, they are human too right? yeah some have attitude prob but still, don't be unreasonable. it's jus like maid abuse. cant you simply treat your maid as a HUMAN BEING? like a fren? you know how the chinese saying goes "ren zhi chu, xing ben shan". it says that we, humans, start out with a pure and kind heart, which i believe in. it is because of how other things that happen to you mould you to another person, perhaps to retaliate and save yourself. say the maids, if you treat them well from the start, they're most prob gonna give you respect, but if you dont even give them the respect that human beings deserve, why should they give you that?

IMSONIA. STILL UP 6 HRS BEFORE THE MATHS PAPER.

tell ME abt it.

(ok at this pt i realise that the other subs i study are pretty relevant to real life so no complaints)

BUT

i take back my word about being housewives. cos i totally adore my mum's lifestyle

Friday, June 09, 2006

we've whizzed thru so much maths this yr that i find myself asking. how do i do DE or power series? bad sign? totally
i cut my hair and this hairdress ALWAYS cuts more than i ask her to. so 8cm chopped off :( hahah, i gre to that length in half a yr k...so now i've to wait another half a yr to get it that long. but ah well, i usu am not sad abt cutting hair cos it will grow back anyway. ok, the pt is, when i was there, i thought of my 5th weird thing (if you dunno wat i'm toking abt, go back 3, 4 entries)

5th weird thing: whenever i go to the haridresser's, there will be this sudden muscle constriction on my right back. like my kidney area. ahha. it's as if my hair fears being manhandled by hairdressers or sth. then i will jerk. i used to think maybe cos i was just a kid and scared of strangers of sth, but it still happens. and i will never know why that happens. hmm..weird huh.

after the past two days of low mental activity (class cip and prep) it's a little hard to get back the previous concentration span/level i had. yest was qt fun lah. ahha, the kids werent as havoc as expected. though we had heaps of waffles left to eat, and rachel was happily making her waffle sandwich for everyone. we also made a very special waffle sandwich for jingheng! (happy bday!) will get pics from chris to post. it had toothpicks for candles and was nicely decorated with chocolate, strawberry and sugar syrup, chocolate rice and raisins and milk. haha, im sure he had a great time.

this is something i will be doing post A's, so you're welcome to join with me if you're interested! it's basically an extension of interact in schools and a junior version of the rotary, thus the name rotaract!

The Rotaract Club of Singapore CIty was officially installed on 28th May 2006 by our Guest-of-Honour Rtn. Zahidi Rahman (the incoming Chairperson of the SNG Committee). We are currently 30 members strong with about 10 more choosing to be 'Friends of Rotaract' owing to their other commitments. Our target membership is 60 official Rotaractors and your participation is crucial if we are to meet our target.

Here're the answers to some FAQ you might find useful!

"why join the rotaract club?
it's an avenue to do community service and a platform for ppl interested in community service but do not know how to go about it. infrastructure, funding, organisation is ALL IN PLACE. all you have to do is sign up and turn up. very easy :) also since it's 'service through fellowship' there's got to be some fun involved. if it's all work everyone will burn out and it's also about getting to know like-minded individuals so there is the area of self-development that rotaract hopes to pursue. professional development involves organising courses for the rotaractors like etiquette class, interview skills, personal grooming, tea session with various professionals as a form of career guidance, cooking class for rotaractors about to go abroad to study etc. many many plans in the pipelines, just waiting to see indication of interests.

what rotaract does
the rotaract club of singapore city has chosen to adopt the assisi home and hospice at thomson road. assisi is a hospice for terminally-ill cancer patients and rotaractors will be 1) volunteering in the wards on saturdays 2) helping raise funds for the home 3) organising mini-projects for the patients' benefit. the point of adopting a charity rather than concentrating solely on adhoc projects for various charities is that it allows for continuity and when you work closely with an organisation, you are better able to meet its needs. besides monetary contributions, assisi also needs volunteers' time because the nurses are already working round the clock and patients need more than medical care. assis currently has a 'teddy bank' project going on where donors buy a $10 green teddy bank designed by one of the child patients. rotaractors can help sell the bears to family and friends to raise funds. the mini-projects vary on a monthly basis. can be anything from just turning up in full-force and spending 1:1 time with the patients for an hour one evening to caroling in the wards at christmas. i've also volunteered our services to other volunteer organisations as manpower so they'll call us if they need help running their projects.

a little bit about me (lest you think it's some fly-by-night club :P)
i'm a j3 waiting to read law at NUS, starting august. will continue with my Rotaract commitments for the rest of the Rotaract year though! i was chairperson of the rjc interact club in j2 and that's how i know the rotarian advisor who asked me to take-over the rotaract club of singapore city (it's a 40yr old club but the previous leadership has been stagnant for 2yrs and they got kicked out and replaced :() personally volunteered with assisi since i was 15, helping out in the fundraising sector before moving over to the wards this yr (you need to be 18 before you can volunteer in the wards). i am also volunteering at the MINDS employment centre at margaret drive where intellectually disabled (ID) adults are employed to clean SIA headphones / do simple arts and crafts and give tuition to underprivileged children at the children's society student care centre in bukit merah."

Hope this give you a better idea about Rotaract. Again, could I please trouble you to forward this to your members and do ask them to email me if they're interested in joining Rotaract upon graduation from Interact.

Thank you!

Warmest Regards,
Joanna Joy Tan
President of the Rotaract Club of Singapore City
Immediate Past President of the RJC Interact Club

Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 6 weird facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose the 5 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

1) habit: im a coffee addict. big time. trying to substitute it with tehpeng. if i dun get my daily fix, i will feel really terrible at like 9am in the morning.

2) habit: if i want to get something in a day. i MUST plan. or i will probably end up whiling all the time away. that doesnt mean i will stick to it closely ahha. but at least its a guide of what i needa complete.

3) thing: i think my family is pretty dysfunctional. on the whole its jus like a normal family but when certain issues arise, can start to see the cracks. and my extended family too. i never know how it feels to play / grow up with my cousins (the other half of the cousins are in msia and small)

4) thing: i have tons of secrets or things that i hide away haha

5) i will add on when i think of one.

ok, i dunno who has interesting things to say but JANICE haha. and i will help her full in one of the 5 items!! Janice has hmm..some weird fetish/interests. haha.

my dad likes watching da chang jin too. he says its educational. hahha, but im sure he enjoys the drama and all! it's gonna be one of my post-A's to do - rewatching da chang jin! muhahah. speakng of k-dramas. there was this time i wacthed on CNA on tvmobile abt the bae yong jun wax figurine in some museum and aunties were CRYING over that!! mind you THEY WERE CRYING. its madness u noe!! someone pls save them! what's so great abt bae yong jun! he is such a bad choice lah, aunties!! mediocre acting, mediocre looks (some say ugly). haha, well, i personally think that guy in Full House is damn shuai hahah (not Rain!). but not like im going to kiss and hug his wax figurine if there's gonna be one right. i think they needa wake up from their delusion lah. hahha

Sunday, May 28, 2006

i was watching a documentary on discovery called "End Day". it depicted 4 different scenarios that scientists predict the world will end in 1) a mega tsunami 2) a meteor hits earth 3) a flu pandemic 4) a particulate accelerator experiment that might create a black hole effect.

well, the first 3 are supposed to be "the qn is not whether it will happen, but simply when" while the last is just imagination and sci-fi stuff. i didnt like how the tsunami one only depicted the effects on US East Coast. too small a scale to be "doomsday". hahha, if sth is a doomsday, it should affect the whole world. like the earth exploding frm its core or sth. i thot 2 was what i would believe most in ( did u noe that tiny meteorites hit the earth all the time but they get burnt out while penetrating the atmosphere and thus becomes the dust that settles on your table?) and 3 is the most relevant to current situations. i dunno abt you, but if i know doomsday was coming and i prob wun be able to escape, i will just wait for my death, i wun attempt to run or hide or anth, because its not gonna be very nice being one of the survivors and seeing the bleak world arnd u huh? i guess u'd rather be dead then too.

i kinda like sci-fi hahah, and the simulations and CGI in the docu was good! haha, anyway, it just shows how unpredictable nature is huh? the tsunami one had this scientist saying that such an event had occurred throughout geological time (its supposed to happen because this volcanic island erupted and split into half, and the impact will cause giant waves), and is not gonna stop just because we exist on earth. so true. and makes us feel so very small huh. speaking of nature, i think she has been extremely unkind to Indonesia! Earthquake, tsunami, volcano, earthquake again. leave indon alone for now, there's too much tragedy there!

went for the True Hearts cip farewell. and one of the mentees gave me this balloon :) well, i spent a very short time there but it was a pretty nice feeling knowing how they appreciate my presence. it's tuition for normal tech students and to us it's a very different kind of scenario. they are sec 3 and still learning simult. eqns. to us its lik second instincts rite, but i gues i've come to apprec that my surroundings and my friends are only a very small part of the world we live in, and that there are lots of people out there with lifestyles/environments vastly different from ours and it would be extremely narrow minded to only concentrate and dwell on our own little bubble.

finally the holidays are here. im happy because NO MORE 6AM MORNINGS!!!!!!!! (plus my mum is getting more lenient abt my wake up time ahha) that's the best of the hols. and to look on the bright side, i finally have time to sit down and study proper (provided if im well discplined and can sit still and wait for the info to enter my brain thru osmosis). but duh, who likes studying!

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

i not stupid too is so depressingmpared to the first one! but i guess it does portray truths about lives we cant comprehend or never experienced before.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006

we watched a very depressing video during physical geog today. basically, it talked about this 2 climatic phenomena - global warming and global dimming (this caused the ethiopian famine), and how pollution is the main culprit behind them. despite the decrease in pollution in certain countries, the inability for us to remove CO2 in the air (which comes from burning coal etc for energy) will worsen global warming. and it's jus a vicious cycle- the world will become hotter and hotter, the ice caps melt, plants cant grow, ppl die of famine, etc etc. you must watch the video yourself (which is very nicely filled with horror movie- worthy music) and you will come out depressed. btw, the effects will hit in by 30-4o yrs, so don't think it doesnt affect you. recycle and save electricity!

Saturday, May 13, 2006

what started out to be an attempt to do my lit PC essay has turned out to be a terrible failure cos i have NO REMOTE IDEA on how to start my essay, or what im supposed to write.

Had learning journey today to the Ford Factory (at hillview there). it was not too bad, pretty interesting exhibits, but the thing is, the only photo that i took throughout the whole thing was this display of banana notes

hahah, just wasnt in the "take picture take picture" mood i guess. and there was a pathetically small no. of ppl who turned up. oh, at the end of the gallery there was this comments board, and there was this note, prob left by a kid that said "i am so proud to see my ah gong's id here!" how interesting right! OH and there was this SUPER AMUSING part about how ACS' canteen used to face these "holiday houses" where the Europeans hung out prob as resorts or sth (cant rmb) AND the women would SUN BATHE (was it in the nude!!?!- i think so!) so the teachers and prefects had to hmm...keep the order. oh, and outside the gallery there was this pretty intersting tic tac toe machine thing that would ask u qns from the info u can get from the exhibits.
then we proceeded to Al Azhar for some prata and milo dinosaur. ah well, i guess some of the food there is a bit overrated? but milo dinosaur is so nice :)

oh and i am so in love with magnum ice cream! the chocolate coating is just OUT OF THIS WORLD! oh can someone who watched lost tell me about the thing between Shannon and Sayeed? i missed abt one or two episodes and am completely lost. haha, bad pun.

went for chorale concert today and PUNCH wa SOOOOOOOO hilarious. last year was the bobbing bombay and this year is some mushroom thing. man, how can they be so funny!! ok, so everytime i go for a choir concert, its largely nostalgia and not so much of aesthetic enjoyment for me. ahah but i must say, bonkie's solo rocks!! i was like "that's nice" and trying to trace whose lips that came from.

so, i've gone for 3 concerts in the span of about 3 wks, and thanks to Dad who picked me up all the time, so willingly :). was looking fwd to learning journey but since only 10 will be turning up..(that's like half of the class alrdy) i guess it wouldnt be so fun after all. am looking fwd to the prata. ahaha.

Sunday, May 07, 2006

yest when we were walking to VCH, we saw this DAAAMMMNNN CUTE kitty!! i dun often say cats are cute cos i think they look slightly scary, unless they are the persian damn fat type with round round eyes. but NIWAE, this kitty is an exception. it was alone, at the roadside!! so poor thing!! i so wanted to carry it but scared it would scratch me or sth. sigh..mum...i want a pet!!!!!

supposed to do some econs presentation thing, but im super distracted now.

audrey hepburn is really not THAT pretty see this but it's her whole image that's oh-so classy. oh and i cant wait to watch da vinci code!! kinda feel like reading the bk again, to refresh my memory. but anyway, i think ian mckellen is acting as the sir teabing right? i think he suits the role a lot..i'd have imagined him to be that character niwae. he's so flexible right! he can be both evil and nice old men. haha

Saturday, May 06, 2006

yay! i survived SATs!! have a pretty good feeling abt it. ALL THANKS TO THE COFFEE!!! i really cant think properly if i cant stay awake. then came home and did nothing andthen went out for dance nite. the whole city hall was flooded by rj lah. and i crown chris the queen of city hall. ahha, cos im very unfamiliar with that area so she's the one navigating arnd. thnks!

niwae, dance nite was good! there's a reason why it gets sold out every year. and the dancers are flexible like anything, they can kick their legs up so high like nobody's business. haha

i REALLY love the fashion of the 1930s and 40s. the women in wide-brimmed hats, gloves, pipe in hand, french chic; poofy gowns with cinched waist, fur, always pearls. i think its the era when femininity was celebrated, women take comfort in being women, the idea of luxury, extravagance for women seemed to have blossomed then

this is what i mean

Friday, May 05, 2006

how exciting! polling day tmr. if there was a rally near my area, i would prob have gone. it's pretty interesting how ppl actually cheer so loudly and are so enthusiastic abt it, shud be quite fun to go lah. hope glenn got to go for one today so he can tell me all about it on monday.

sigh im taking my SATs tmr. and i've armed myself with a can of coffee (those that u can buy in sch) cos i think that amt is just right, and enough to keep me up for the desired no. of hours. gosh. i hope i do better than the previous one or it'd be just wasting my time money effort and brain cells.

all the best to me

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

What breed of dog are you?

http://web.tickle.com/dog/

Yorkshire Terrier
No bones about it, you're a social, bustling Yorkshire Terrier. Active and enthusiastic, Yorkies like you have a ton of energy — which means you're probably always running around like a mad dog. You're never without a project to work on, an errand to run, or a party to catch. (Where do you find the time?) You're a chatty little pup, too — talking is one of your favorite pastimes. That's why all your friends and acquaintances see you as their own personal Entertainment Tonight and rely on you for the latest gossip and social bulletins. You always liven up a dinner party or cocktail gathering, and people simply adore your affectionate nature and get-up-and-go eagerness. Woof!

Ooh, i turned out to be one of my fave dogs, though it's not very accurate! HAHHA. really wouldnt mind being one in my next life.

Saturday, April 29, 2006

have i told you i love xiumin? HAHAH. xiumin if you're reading this, you're the bomb! ahhaha. she's my very blur/naive/funny junior, who's so gullible k. yesterday i msged her before the jazz concert to ask what flower she likes, and since i got her a rose last year, this yr i'd get sth different for her. i told her im gonna get her bougainvilla (however u spell that) and later i asked rachel to help me tell her she saw me carrying bougainvilla. and this dear little (blur) girl believed it k! HEY, im not so cheapskate k!! and anyway, she's one pro pianist k, but anyway, she's my favouritest junior! i know i can talk to her anytime abt anything!

im qt sad abt letting my piano go. i mean im of course jus a microscopically-skilled pianist (haha, that's why i quit piano ensemb) but if i had continued my lessons i could have been better than now. now when im busy, practising piano is the first to go off my schedule and i've neglected it for really long. i used to think i wanted to be a musician. hahah, how bu zi liang li.

Thursday, April 27, 2006

seeing rach prep for jazz concert jus makes me miss choir more and more. the hype, the anxiety, the excitement, the last rehearsal rush, the relief, the PCB (post concert blues).

sigh

Sunday, April 23, 2006

was reading about the girl joan chan on today's papers and was thinking that despite all these things we do everyday, life just simply boils down to just staying alive, being able to wake up every morning. are you actually grateful for being to wake up everyday? i plan my schedule for many days or weeks but what if i cant even wake up tmr? in fact, the less you know about the world, the less smart you are, the less things you have to be unhappy about. that's what i think.

Saturday, April 22, 2006

i think friendster is so retarded. i keep refreshing and refreshing and it doesnt update. sch's fine. boring as usual. im gonna bring my colour pencils on monday to keep me thru the double lit lessons with colouring! that was my favourite activity since young k. when my mum went for some english lessons, she brought me along and i coloured in a corner. oh, yest rach and i went to j8 for lunch and o our way back to sch, we passed by this pasar malam at the j8 bus terminal. really cheap and entertaining stuff! like, she bought this pink tin slide box that contains cartoon plasters, for $1.5!! they sell for much more elsewhere, like at mini toons or sth. and i bought 3 A4 size sheets of winnie the pooh stickers for ONE BUCK. ONE BUCK. how many things on earth can you buy at one dollar nowadays man. AND there was wrapping paper for 10cents a piece if you buy 5! that's like DIRT CHEAP. its no gd quality but buy for the kick right, and it will come to be of use one day (that's my motto)

hai. this wk jus flew past again, and it's abt 5 weeks or so to end of term. THAT'S BAD. VERY VERY BAD. im trying to not use the net for like one or two days a wk. but my mum is very bad. she keeps asking me to check if my sis is online and i'll jus end up netting again. i need to lock the power switch or sth. math is qt a mess. lit is a rush. i've no remote idea why they wanna put themselves (and us) thru this cos they cud have jus completed last yr's bks quicker. geog is pretty rushed too. once again, i NEED TIME to sit down and consolidate everything. it's damn scary. A's. i kinda wish i will forever be at sec3/j1 - way better than not knowing why you slog for certain things in j2

i really love madonna's songs. frm her new album i mean. last dec, i was SO in love with Hung Up cos its damn catchy! and i kept humming it and my sis was SO close to pummeling me k. and her other song, Sorry is really nice too. wat genre is this? i've no idea how to classify all these.

i watch MTV pretty often now, since this nice 7pm show on cable disappeared. and i was absolutely high when they played sorry and pump it back to back hahaha. i like!
anyway, the philo presentation is over! i spent the whole wkend immersing in Plato Plato and Plato. and also, we've finished the last NAPFA in our whole life last wk!! a milestone indeed, so this wk onwards shud be games :)

sigh. i really hate jc life. only occasional bouts of happiness. why? because i feel like everything we do is for the 4As 2Ds and a flying testimonial. why? why on earth must we immerse ourselves in this? have u ever stopped and wondered what u do all the math, science, memorising, mugging for? when we do question our purpose on earth, it will jus boil down to
birth - study study study study study- work work work work work work work - retire- die. ( i mean dun ur parents ans ur "why must i go to sch" question by saying "so you can get a good job next time" -- and what abt getting a gd job? to get a lot of money to retire? yeah yeah, contribute to society and all, but it's jus such an impersonal thing...very selfish here, but that's what i think)

that's what humans do on earth.

sad isnt it? and if you do actually stop and question and see the seeming lack of direction or greater purpose (to me at least!) i think one can get pretty pessimistic. all our daily joys and endeavours are so micro as compared to ur whole life span, which is summarised by what i listed out above.

humans are sad. in my nxt life, i wanna be a pet dog- loved and taken care of, no need to think about how to ace my exam or what schools to attend or what to work as or how to get a promotion. -woof-

Thursday, April 13, 2006

had a career talk in the morn, and it just sets me into that melancholic mood. its such a damn hassle to do all the apps for schs and scholarships, that sometimes i will wonder, why put myself through all this torture? but if i dun try one day i might regret. GOSH. i've said a thousand times before how im really torn right through the center when it comes to THE future. if only everyone could have what they wanted.

its scary. CT2 is coming. ok, i've lotsa things to do after A's!!
-sewing lessons!
-dance lessons
-baking with my mum
-get a job!!!
-major cleaning up
-travelling!
-learn to drive! (omg! it feels so surreal!)
-learn the violin! (if i've the financial support)
-shop! (this is a constant lah. it happens anytime, anyday, anywhere)
-join rotaract

it'd be nice to take a gap yr to jus complete everything i wanna do. and after that yr i'd have learnt how to do so many stuff and will probably be a much more satisfied and wholesome person. ah well..not very practical to my parents i guess, taking a gap yr.

shall add on to that list the moment i think of more things i wanna do

Monday, April 10, 2006

i was watching jue dui superband on channel u jus now, and i thought that ppl should be more self-aware. i mean, it's nice that they really really have the passion for sth, and that they are courageous enough, and proactive enough to try to achieve sth for themselves. but some are jus...really....... u get the idea.

i've been SUPER unproductive today. so i hope to start gearing up over this wkend, since there's the gd friday brk as well. i really really need to kick the habit of netting daily!!! niwae, jus some random things.
when i get a dog in future, it will be either a
1) yorkshire terrier
2) small breed pomeranian (last time we went to my dad's colleague's hse during cny, and he had many dogs. one was a small breed pom, and it was pretty old alrdy but stillv ery small sized. and it was OH SO CUUUTTEEE)
3) schnauzer( last wk i saw this SUPPPERRRR cute schnauzer..prob lost its way or sth, then this maid took out a broom to chase it away cos it was early morn and it kept barking at the hse-i think there were dogs in that hse. it ran away super fast, so when i reached it, i tried to offer it food..haha, hmm, the only food i had was clorets mint AHHA then it stared at me with eyes that were covered behind its long fur. OMG SO CUTE CANNNNNN)
4) welsh terrier (i like terriers! so cute!)

well mostly i like small dogs but i think golden retrievers are really cute too! and olde english sheepdogs! (the ici dulux dog!!!)

mum!! i want a doggie!!!
so, cat's bday dinner was at hilton, and it was pretty fun, and there were very amusing games too. the food was good but i couldnt eat much and i regret that. after that some of us went to cocco latte and took some silly shots.

jingheng, my employee, is sulking. ahha

"welcome to our second home!"

haha, this must be my favourite shot of the night! grace chris and i were bored so we went downstairs to LV ahha. no lah, it was closed.

whoar, action eh! ahah, hope grace doesnt punch me liddat for posting this.

more silly shots of grace

sigh. so the fun's over and its time to study again. damn.

Saturday, April 08, 2006

It was ORA in the morning. and qt glad we're all made to participate in it, cos it'll be my last..as a student at least. i am SO SAD that we couldnt go into the haunted hse!!! the queue was how long..sigh, but since the proceeds goes to a gd cause, shall jus take it as a donation. but am pretty curious abt what they planned. the food fair was alright lah, yes it was bustling but the space allocated was jus too damn small! so rach and i filled our tummies there, and i got pestered by my interact juniors to buy their drinks hahaha. still rmb in sec 4, our stall selling popiah and kueh paiti. so fun!!

waited for Rproject to start. bought VIP tix, so we had a VIP reception ( which was really not that bad) where they served snacks like fruit tarts and other finger food. The ruggers helped out with the ushering and all and roland was like the headwaiter. hahahah. and there were other interesting roles like VIP bouncer ( hahah) and crowd control. interesting..
well, the show itself was O...K.... i think that london and milan were the best, thought there were a few crappy ones. and the tokyo one was so hilarious! but i guess it's qt an interesting concept lah huh.

Cat's bday dinner was fun, and it was one of the very few occassions our class gets together. hahah, not to forget sin yong's wonderful magic tricks ( i have the bent 50 cent coin!) and scotty's sexy dance, and the 18 roses dance. pretty amusing. will upload some pics soon. the food was good too (duh!)
so, the long awaited night finally came and went and we'd have to find solace in our pile of work.

SIGH

i guess i will end my school life without having gone for an overseas trip with the sch :( hahah, it's so fun to go on trips with frens! rmb the trip choir planned to italy or sth? ( with debbie's 40 pg proposal which squeezed in "educational" purposes to appease the school authority) that didnt work out. sec 3 geog trip to m'sia? my class only had two ppl who wanted to go so nobody frm my class was chosen. rmb last yr's shanghai trip? cant rmb why i didnt wanna go..oh, i think my mum said sth like we'll prob be going there soon for a family hol. last dec there was laos trip with interact (which i'd really love to go....) but my family was going on hol(not complaining!). AND this yr, i have to give the econs trip a miss cos i'd been to the exact same places ( except the schs, etc) 2 yrs ago. SIGH. my pri 5 cousin is going to nanjing with the sch. P 5 leh!! when i was p5...wat was i doing? oh, i was a prefect standing at the queue of the noodle stall to "maintain order". hahahha. i rmb interact bod saying sth abt some CIP trip in june this yr. i WILL go, if its not too long! and during CV elective, my grp member siang ee, who's in chorale and interact also, was talking abt all the places that chorale went to! finland! and planning to go to czech- prague, etc etc. DAMN AM I JEALOUS. and when i heard that i REALLY regretted not joining chorale. hahaha. but sometimes i enjoy the slack life i have now.

u noe its so ironic that rg choristers dun join rj chorale? i mean our junior batch has ZERO rg choir girls. but that jus shows how irreplaceable rg choir is eh :) oh, there was one time my mum was suggesting selling my choir gown to garang guni. and i was like NOOOO. i mean, my mum is a no-fuss person, she jus throws things away like noone's business, as long as she doesnt wanna see them arnd. but i like to keep stuff, cos every single one of them means sth to me! and furthermore my choir gown!?!? that's like 4 yrs (and a lifetime) of memories man.

sigh. i HAVE to complain how expensive school is! i jus busted 36 bucks the prev weeks on 2 frigging lit bks. it's an expensive sub to take i tell u...we've bought 6 bks. do the math urself. AND our THICK BOOK of geog notes. in the morn we had jus paid $10 class funds each and it was gone in an hour, all to our dear geog notes. the notes usu amt to abt 200 + for the class. ANOTHER expensive (BUT NICE) subject. sigh money money. how rach and i wish money grow on trees eh? so when i wanna buy sth, i will jus say, "oh sure, i can fetch some from my backyard!" scientists, pls do ur resrch now.
econs s is driving me nuts! im like cracking my brain trying to understd the passage. niwae, have discovered many interesting sites to browse through, like online spree sites at lj etc etc. nice things to look at and while time away.

sometimes i wish i could be less ambitious, and just be someone who's easily satisfied. like graduate, find a job. full stop. but that's not what i want out of my life. it's weird to think how ppl can go to their office/ shop watever, day in day out. that's it. and that will carry one for the nxt few decades or sth. im not a stationary person, i need to be constantly on the move, i need to find new things to do, to see, sth that injects excitement into my daily routine. such wishes bring about lots of pain, when u one day realise its all not possible. but i will strive.
